Hermine Tobolowsky, a BPW Past State President, is known as the “Mother of the Equal Legal Rights Amendment in Texas.” Ms. Tobolowsky worked tirelessly, often at risk of personal insults and threat of physical harm to make women in Texas equal in the legal aspects of the law. It is her indomitable spirit of sacrifice and her accomplishments that we honor Hermine Tobolowsky by creating an award in her name. In recognition of her work, the award is given to an individual who has made significant legislative contributions to bring parity to women in Texas in the last three years.
