According to Mary Stutts, senior vice president of Elan Pharmaceuticals, and author of the newly released The Missing Mentor, women today often go without a mentor and fend for themselves professionally while trying to maintain a marriage, their home and their children.
While men often find mentors early in life, women often go without. However, mentors have the ability not only to lift a women's mental health, but to advance her career as well.
Texas Business Women may not be able to provide women with their perfect mentor match but we are trying by organizing events and avenues for women to collaborate with other women both in their field as well as those outside their field that might be able to lend advice or professional experiences.
The TBW Mentorship program is a new one and we are looking for sponsors who can help us get started. If you are interested in helping us with this program please contact us for more information at lfifelski@texasbusinesswomen.org or donate today!
