Texas Business Women is made up of many Local Organizations (LO) and a central executive committee. The simplest definition of a LO is that it is a group of TBW members. Leadership of LOs is made up of officers, a board of directors, and committee chairs. Each LO makes their plans for the year based on the state President’s Plan of Action.
LOs must maintain a minimum of five (5) members to remain in good standing and at least ten percent (10%) should be employed.
Any new or revised LO bylaws are reviewed and approved by the state Bylaws Chair, who is appointed by the state president. The Bylaws Chair ensures that there are no provisions in conflict with the TBW Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Any conflict shall be resolved in accordance with State Organization policy and procedures.
Local Organizations often hold monthly program meetings, offer scholarships, and provide networking opportunities. When you join a Local Organization, you are automatically a member of the Texas Business Women statewide.
